oogled my Stihl earth auger (1950s auger head with modern brazil made 08s power unit), packaged orders, received a shipment of parts, sported my stylin socks, started packing a bunch of top handle saws to send to another OPE member, got my crews going on jobs, went to Lowes for big shipping boxes and to the post office
feels like I didn't get anything done.....

We had a one call, They just didn't mark the power to the street lights... Funny thing is the street department was standing around watching us when we pulled the conduit.

That is crazy, we have hit unmarked (but supposedly marked) gas lines (at a depth of about 4", here come the fire engines), street lights and a temporary power conduit on a site that was marked wrong by almost 10 feet.

Here Health and Safety would have been called, shut down the job and investigated for 2 days before letting you fix the leak.
Glad no one was hurt or equipment (that you are responsible for) got damaged.

I work for a municipal authority that's stuck in the 1920s when it comes to safety. We're not under OSHA safety rules......... So we just don't have any....

That sounds just like the gas company. All I can say is take your own pictures before you dig..... Make sure to use a tape measure or something for scale in the pictures.

I drove in the snow, worked in the office, visited a couple jobs sites and then took the family for dinner at Olive Garden.
Got home and decided I was going to be "that neighbour" and wait for the snow to melt instead of shoveling.

Woah.... Were you driving through Blacklick Oh with that there auger? Seeing that picture just gave me a case of deja vu of a truck I briefly driving behind and drooling all over myself in envy.

Worked till 0930 this morning and then spent most of an absolutely beautiful day passed out. I hate midnight.
