Or better yet , change it over to the Oregon power mate small spline. That's why I had the 325-8 small rim.

Yep...i ordered the OEM rim kit for my 241s with that mini spline and its cool that i can swap from a P7 to a .325 if i wanna switch it up..but it would def be easier if they would just offer all the rims and just have one spline size for all the smaller saws from all makers.

What's the weird in between spline?
I think husky uses it
It's not really a weird tweener. Stihl created the mini in an effort to monopolize their smaller rim drives, so you had to buy it from them to replace it. Most, other than stihl, run either Oregon small or large

Jim, do you think dropping to an 8 pin would keep the RPM'S a little bit higher and in the sweet spot? Sounded like it was a little low on the RPM'S in the cut when dogged. 8 pin may "work" a little better.
At 18 inches I'm not thinking so if it's set up right. The chain needed touched up and was already set up with lower rakers for running a 7-pin. Under normal cutting conditions I wouldn't have been putting near that much of a load on it.
I'll have to run it again after putting a good grind on the chain.

Looked pretty good to me.

I bet 3/8 would be quicker. Seemed like the chain got all loaded up with chips and the wood is soft. I could be wrong.
