You can always justify another saw.

It's the saw you sold me. I don't think you did anything intentionally and it was a cheap fix. I changed the lever because Jeff liked the red lever look.

The saw had no major issues.
I'm very sorry for the troubles you've had with the saw. I honestly ran it before sending it to you and other than having to tune the low a little it seemed fine.
I apologize to Jeff also, as I have probably caused him a delay in getting his saw.

No worries here either. I was tired and may have worded my post too harshly.

Good news! Perhaps at some point it will be possible to purchase a "slightly massaged" NWP jug to test run in the Tarheel State(?) As long as I can use a stock piston.
I have a candidate if you come up with a confident prospect :D
Just looked at the jug.

.075 of space between the exhaust floor and the piston skirt at at TDC. So it can be dropped a bunch. No gasket on this.

Squish was odd and band may be off. Don't have time to investigate right now.

Head slapper with no gasket. .023 gasket yielded .032 squish.

Exhaust roof 99 with gasket.

Sounds like you can delete the gasket, cut the squish band, clean up & open up the ports, and be good!

Nice build thread! Good stuff!

Al you need to try different chain combinations.

I like the lower transfer concept.

I believe you can get the idle issues cured by playing with muffler outlet sizes. Make the front cover with adjustable opening and play.

Have you ever tried less compression on the 026's?

I believe the idle issue is all fixed. Doc dug into it and found the issue. He let me know this morning.
Doc has a few different things up his sleeve. I will let him tell everyone. Lol

I think the reason the compression is so high is to get the exhaust lowered. They are really high to start. In fact I believe at one point Al was looking for ways to lower the compression.
