Al you need to try different chain combinations.
I like the lower transfer concept.
I believe you can get the idle issues cured by playing with muffler outlet sizes. Make the front cover with adjustable opening and play.
Have you ever tried less compression on the 026's?
Dan's correct here Joey.I think the reason the compression is so high is to get the exhaust lowered. They are really high to start. In fact I believe at one point Al was looking for ways to lower the compression.

The usual OEM ex roof comes in around 96*. This NWP is looking to be 100* with a stock chamber.
Looking like I can take less from it's band and leave a bigger chamber as well as a thicker base.
I'd love to keep these saws sub 200psi and still get a 105* ex roof.
