Randy I know if off on the base one side to the other will rub into one side or the other but how much difference when off on the base front to back would be allowed before it would cause a problem?

I have no idea.....

how did you do that plier set up randy?

Clamped em closed with a pair of vice grips, and drilled em in the drill press.

I figured the wrist pin would take up for some of the base being off front to back but the side to side would be a problem at least in the way Im thinking I guess:rolleyes:

when the base is off side to side, it will take out the lower rod bearing in short order.
when the base is off front to back, it can cause fitment issues with the muffler.

So what your saying is make sure you properly level your belt sander in the vise before use?
