I've seen AM clutch drums that where too tight and out of round causing the clutch to drag. I chucked one in the large once a took a few cuts to make it work in a pinch.

Fuggin junk! Tossed one in the woods a few years back. Wobble wobble wobble. It was painful to see it spin installed backwards. Off it went flying in the brush, bye bye.

Edit: Never had a problem with HyWay drums or clutches ever! Others can vary from OK to dogshit.

My mistake was ordering a 7 dollar spur for a thousand dollar saw. Live and learn. Every cheap junk 290 part I order turns out to be good, go figure.

I've had pretty good luck with some AM parts. I've run AM clutches on 288/394/395 without any problem, 066's can be tricky with/without the spring backing washer, but most have been fine.

Oregon are usually fine. Most are made in Canada.
