I hope it works out too, if so I may have to get one for my Super XL. I have not looked at the spur sprocket recently, but I am sure it is ready for a new one and chain too. Having a back-up bar is also a plus!

Dang, now you have me looking at parts on that site. I did get my Super XL out over the weekend and fired it up. I have not done much to it since I got it, I do need to get in and at least replace filters and take a look at the carb. The rim sprocket clutch cover would be a bonus too!

Is that muffler gutted or is the baffle / spark arrestor still in there ?
Not sure. Just came across video (not mine) and thought I should link it here. I had a red one but, gave it away to a friend. There’s a blue one (runner) on marketplace near me for a hundred. Mine is a super ez auto. Pretty loud with all the baffles intact.

The red fuel cap isn't the stock color ?
It was on the saw when I got it so I really don't know .
I think the original was black. They were somewhat notorious for leaking in old age. It was probably replaced at some point?
Looks awesome as-is

I thought the cork gasket looked in much too good shape to be original .
The cork gaskets are easy to replace, so it is possible that might be the original cap (with newer cork). Looking at the cover of the IPL for the Super EZ, it shows a red cap.

I let myself get talked into one of those product surveys that used to be done in a nearby shopping center. Probably early 80's.
I realized it was for spark plug packaging (think it was Champion) and so of course I was in!
I actually liked the designs and colors that looked like older versions.
