Hey troops . An old friend left this on my tailgate one afternoon with a bunch of other stuff he said was broken and he no longer wanted .
I have done no research on this and wondered if it's worth it to try to "mechanically restore" it.
If anyone wants to share stories / info / parts sources / etc , I'm all ears .

Those were tough, durable little saws and, in my experience, usually don't need much more than fuel lines, a carb kit, and possibly a point filing to breathe life back into them. That one looks pretty nice too. Used parts should be easy if you need them, Homelite made a b'jillion of those and the EZ super.

Oh heck yeah!! I have a Super XL and it is a fun saw. I love the blue on the Homelites. A guy named Leon has a YouTube channel and has worked on many Homelites, he specializes in Homelites. Parts can still be found for them.

I actually have bought some parts for my Mini-Mac 30 from Leon.
Thank you , I never thought about him.

I guess the things to check first, are the piston/cylinder scorred? Fuel lines rotted? Need a new carb kit diaghprams? Fuel and air filter. Spark plug sparking? If everything is looking pretty good, drop some good fuel (even if just priming the carb) and see if it starts screaming!!

I did that with the Super XL I got, bought it with the recoil cord hanging out, cleaned up the recoil, put fresh fuel in it and it fired right up!

No scoring on the slug viewed through the exhaust port , just carbon . I would replace e all the fuel lines and rebuild the carb .
I need to build a flywheel puller next .
Here's where I'm at.
