MS462 Design Changes

It seems that I have mistaken this Shane for the old "Westcoaster" Shane
My apologies for my confusion @Shanesaw80

It’s easy to mistake peeps,, we’ve seen it here before. And it’s easy to change identities..
Those that admit it, are humble guys…… I’ve always thought of you as a knowledgeable humble guy ..

I’m an idiot, and I should have asked……… it’s not the first time I’ve been wrong.

IMHO, he was young and “smart”… knew it all type. As time went on, he seemed to get better, but then disappeared. He had a few screen names over the years as he tried to grow, and again, my apologies to @Shanesaw80 ……… I should have asked him before I inserted my feet into my ice cream eater

Is there any way to prevent it from happening on all the old version saws out there? Can the new piston be installed in the old version saw to fix it?

The new piston is not compatible with the old cylinder, or case.

Wow. Exactly the same type of crack like the previous post in this thread. That's something. Why they didn't find this when designing and testing the saw.

I may be wrong but looks to me like better lubrication may have prevented that problem.

Seems like a lot of wear on the skirt.

That's the intake side. It get all the oil it want.
Metal fatigue for me. Break right where the corners are.

I always thought they needed a little less exhaust duration even after machine work, that’s for sure
