Any idea what revision the standard carb 462 is on? I know to avoid any before April 2021. I'm considering one as a 044 replacement due to the springy anti vibe, these posts scare me.
Worth checking into. When Mtronic harnesses became difficult to get from Ukraine (2021ish?) they started making the 462 in the adjustable carburetor version. I don’t remember when the first ones came out though, if it was before the design change or not

I've ported adjustable versions that were before the change.

Well, the case had been busted through to the oil tank by piston debris, just like the pics Randy posted at the start of the thread, so I TIG welded it up and ground it back, then polished the mating surfaces on a sheet of 220 grit on my concrete workshop floor.

It's the case of simply using what you have to hand isn't it Kev ;)
Saved the $240NZD for a set of secondhand V1 cases I'd managed to get lined up if this didn't work out.
Absolutely.
I believe the only dedicated service tools I own are husky clutch removers and 2 different style flywheel pullers.
Oh, and a few circlip installers from Glock

Same here. Mattyo's case assembly tools are also a very valuable addition to any set of tools if you are working on saws - well worth the investment IMHO.
