You would think a Pro Grade saw would last 1000 hrs.

207 hrs. on a landing the lifespan of a saw in months would be less than the finger on my right hand.

200hrs seems ridiculously low hours for a saw of that value.
I agree. And I believe that Stihl should make it right.

I've owned one Stihl in my life and it was like a boat to me,the happiest day was when I bought it and the next happiest was when I sold it.i like the old poulans better than anything.i had a 5400 before I got the Stihl, when I sold it I went to Husqvarna.

Some have speculated the 400 to be its near equal, in your estimation, do you think you put some separation between the two? If so, how much?
Nice looking job, by the way.
I'm going to have to get back to you on that. Next 400 will get this same bar and chain, in the same log from the first video.

I have only done one 462 and three 400’s. I wasn’t wowed by what I tried on the 462 for a 28”. The last 400 I did was pretty nasty…owner says it yanks a 28 well. What Randy did on that 462 looks pretty strong to me.

I've been wanting to do another 462 again to try and see what a revisit would do. Even though my feedback was good on them, to me these can never have enough torque.
The 400 is good, but to me, not 462 good. Some are proclaiming the 400 as the ultimate saw, I dunno if I'd go that far with it, as good as it is. Seems to me they all have good spots and even some not so good spots to them.

I'm looking forward to seeing the 400.1

Looks like they built it more like a 462, with some 500i genes mixed in.
