MS462 Design Changes

How does the new style do ported. We Have a new one at work and i really enjoy running it. I was thinking of buying one and having it worked over.

If, by new style, you mean a silver tag 462, I have 2 of them. 1 of mine is ported and it has been wonderful to run daily as my felling saw.

I was always trying to calm down the original a little bit by leaving the exhaust down after lathe work. The new one starts with lower numbers than the old one had after machine work so it’s more flexible. A ported silver tag can run exactly like a ported white tag but not the other way around

The 2nd one you ported for me snorts measurably harder than the first.

Probably got more time on it. I believe they’re both identical inside

I like the version 2 for a 28" bar and the early one for a 20"

That early one is fast with a shorter bar...nice up to 24"..

But the V2 has more lug on 28"..no comparison really..it's a real world felt difference in torque
