That's why you buy 2 of them:

That, and Moobs has a stihl dealer where you can just order them brand new and modified from him!

I wonder when we will see 4 stroke chain saws. Be better for EPA Regilations. Outboard motors made the switch.
Dolmar did a prototype 4 stroke saw a while back.

4 strokes make a lot more sense when the weight of the device is not so dang important. The EPA dropped the compliance bomb on saws way after it did it to cars. The learning curve is still relatively young on saws, and less companies working on the problem.

I was referring more to the current, present day.

And so was I, referring to the regs imposed on emmissions in US.
I should have quoted, but I was responding to Mike's post. Yours posted while I was still typing. A little confusing, but I hear ya. With regards to the VW debacle.

I used to open the secondary first, like the factory angle has it. I can't recall who it was that suggested doing it the other way around, but I tried it. Yeah, it works. I think it's because the main is more open because of it location near the center of the bore, but it flows more. So it makes sense to give it a head start, then let the secondaries lift it up when they open. A look at a 372 jug will help you understand it better.

Yours is nice: but I won't own one.

All the screws would fall out as soon as I would take it out of the box, or the oiler would start pissing, or the cylinder would score on 32:1.

I hope you checked the fasteners after I touched yours: you know I'm snakebit.

I'm so over working on stihls, I mean wtf, you actually have to undo bolts which is retarded and time consuming. With a husky you just pick it up and give it a shake, hey presto, all fixings have self removed, so much quicker and it doesn't matter how tight they are to begin with!

Could do with one or two of these Randy, we have a few now at work and they managed to cold seize a 390 and straight gas a 395.
That xb my mate killed and you cleaned up is still going well, though not sure how long it will last as just found out he killed my 288xp

Blunt chain and undone top cover screws, he kept going full pelt till the carb fell off.... All threads worn away, bits obviously loose and hanging off...

I hate people so much sometimes even though I love em,

If I can get 4 of these sent out it should last him a few months
