If you are concerned about the pitting in the stuffer, just fill the back side with JB weld.

Thank you Mark I meant to ask you about that. I would rather do that now instead of it leaking later after it's put back together. Would it be worthwhile to smooth out the pitting at all?

I had good success repairing the crankcase of a Solo Twin with JB Weld where it had corroded through. I don't know why you could not do the same with the surface of that stuffer, just make sure it is very clean before you apply the epoxy. Cleaning it up afterwards would be relatively easy, just sand it down until the magnesium starts showing up.

I had to modify one run of the mill stuffer to work in a 101 with the bigger/wider counterweights, might actually have been the one above. I ground through the magnesium and into the JB in the process but it still worked quite nicely.

I like the idea of filling it from the backside, I get worried that If someone fills the pits on the inside and if it not perfectly clean it will come off and cause some serious damage!
