Husky 350 Question.......

Which cylinder is it? There's a couple that came on them. I think pre epa was 44mm. Epa was 45mm. I think both had a dished piston. If its 45, the 353 flat top piston works like mentioned

I never thought to measure it.

if your cylinder says 45 on the top of it... its a 45. if it says 44 ... its a 44. they have it painted on the top of the cylinder heads.

also, if you have the removable transfer covers, its a 45.

I don't think they make an aftermarket dished piston for the 45 (or 44). just flat tops. so, meteor or hyway, or farmertech I think.

doesn't look like huztl makes a single ring version, just double in 45.

Oddly enough, CRC brakleen is designed to leave no film, but i find it leaves more residue than even carb/choke cleaner. My favorite if I want something really dry and clean is CRC MAF Sensor cleaner. It is pricey stuff but worth it. It evaporates cleanly with no residue left behind. I use it at work all the time for cleaning MAFs (as its intended) and have been impressed with it. If something is really nasty, brakleen first as it's cheaper, then MAF cleaner to finish it off.

Plain old starting fluid/ether and then a light wipe down with alcohol, make sure it's in a well ventilated area though preferably outside

I recently put a new top end on a 550xp and there was no bevel to speak of on the ports of the old cyl or the new one.

Absolutely no bevel on the transfers.....

My take on he lack of beveling...as small as the upper transfers are compared to the bore size, the rings are supported enough they don't expand into the port like they do on the intake and exhaust ports. The bridge in between the two uppers keeps the ring where it should be thus no need for a bevel. On a dual port with wide uppers I would definitely bevel the upper and lower edges but on a small quad like this I don't see the need. Besides, the less bevel, the more accurate the timing is and the better control over the port there is.

Yup, looking at a 394 jug this weekend. Almost no bevels on any of the ports...[emoji33]
