Yea, several years back I sold about every saw I had for that one. It's a work of art.

I ended up wearing off the original finish after the first year. I had it parkerized and wore it down to bare metal after about two years... I now have it ceracoted and it's holding up pretty decent.

I like holster wear on a gun. I'm not a fan of shiny guns.

I saw a real shiny Taurus one I liked. I just don't know a ton about Taurus. I almost got the Taurus raging bull .44 revolver. Ended up with a ruger blackhawk

I am definitely not an expert on firearms, but from what I understand nobody's made any real significant improvements to the design of the 1911.
There's only been minor changes since its conception. It's a timeless classic well designed firearm.

I personally like them cause that's what the us toted in ww2. Other than that they're a man sized frame hand gun. Not a compact plastic thingy. I own a Glock it's my favorite pistol But those big 1911 feel manly that's what I like bout em

I believe the re was no patent on it as it was a war weapon. Those three companies produced it for the military to use

The Remington's I've handled I have not been impressed with.
