I got out and tries my 11-87. Still not feeding shell in. Just pops out magazine and not tripping the fork like thing that put it in chamber.

So i decided to pull apart and clean again and go over real good. But a thing poped.out that shouldnt have. Think its called a feed latch. Looks like it was in a slot that had peen maks on it to hold in. Will post a pic of part im talking about. I dont think this was the problem though cause it cant move when in place.

I did a little more research and the carrier latch (#24 - 29) or parts of it could be the issue. Check the spring, pin and the latch for worn , loose or bent parts. Apparently the bolt momentarily locks on every shot and the shell coming out of the magazine hits the carrier latch and that sends the bolt forward. The carrier latch holds the bolt open on the last shot when the magazine empties.

I looked at it again and nothing seemes to be bent or broken. Im kinda stumped. The bullet seems to hit the carrier latch thing quite hard.

Is the button you would press to release the bolt have any play in it so it goes off center? If it doesn't, I'm stumped as well.
Does the bolt lock back or can you push it closed when it hangs up without hitting the release button?
My wife's 1100 used to hang up because the hammer sat too high. Filed a bit off and it works as it should.
Failing any of those, mabe Remington could help but they likely don't like anyone messing with the gun who's not a gunsmith.

What loads are you shooting merc? Most of these newer autos "recommend" at least 1 1/8oz to cycle properly

Have you checked your orifice holes to make sure they are clean?
You checked your action spring to make sure it's not all gummed up with oil?

Anyone have an extra set of 38/357 dies? Or... do you have any experience with the 3 pc Lee set?

I had the lee 3 hole set for my turret press, but I returned them for the 4 hole set with the factory crimp die. I like it better for the revolvers. It saves a extra step when crimping the 38, 357, and the 45 colt for me. I have all three sets set up. All I do is change the heads and powder disks.

Orifice holes will be in the barrel. Should be 2 on an 1187, 1 on an 1100.

As for the spring I mentioned, it's totally different than the spring you mentioned. You were talking about the magazine spring. I was talking about the spring on the back side of the action.

The only time I ever had an issue with my 1187 was when I assembled it wrong after cleaning, had the gas piston seal and piston backwards somehow.

I would definitely try some different loads to see if they cycle any better for ya

Those are the holes, make sure they are carbon free. Either use a pipe cleaner or use a small drill bit FREE HAND.

as for the spring...i want to think you have to take the stock off to get to it, easiest way to check if it's working is to press that tuning fork looking thing (#56 looks like a t) towards the buttstock. Make sure it compresses some.

I blew those holes with compressed air ( lightly) and a chunk of crap came of one.
What is the purpose of them holes?

Similar to an AR or AK/SKS, except the gas ports are underneath the barrel.
