Smooth is good and a trademark of square ground chain. At our recent GTG in Pa. I could tell, without looking, which saws had square vs. round ground chain.
Paragon, I presume you are cutting oak? Soft wood lets your teeth get away with angles that hardwood would kill quickly.
I think I read that "forward lean" contributes in a positive way to a chains self feeding characteristics. The fifth pic in post #1 looks pretty decent to me. It seems to have steepened up in some of your later pics?
