‘The Dip’ (inspired by “Who Framed Roger Rabbit”)

Strip off as much gingerbread as possible; starter, top cover, clutch cover and remove clutch (if convenient).

Dig out the heavy chit with an old dull steak knife.

Use a heavy parts brush & mineral spirits to scrub off and soak the innards.

Finish off with O’Reilleys foaming engine degreaser. (It’s actually better than the Gunk brand.)

Hose it off with garden hose connected to the hot side in the laundry room. Blast it a lot!

Leave the air filter on. Or drop it in a zip lock sandwich bag and force it back on.

Be mindful of the muffler outlet.

Get it running as soon as possible or finish disassembly. You will get some moisture in the engine.

I would just blow ‘em off with my air hose but I get too much crap back blast plus they are still oily. [emoji2955]

The purpose of ‘the dip’ is two fold.

One is, shiny stuff sells and the other is, I get a detailed look at the condition of all the important parts.

Plus, a clean air cooled engine runs cooler. [emoji106]

Janitors local supply,

Broken Bow Oklahoma.

You can use it in ultrasonic cleaner also

I’ll have to look that stuff up. And that’s one thing I’d really like to get is a ultrasonic cleaner.

Fixed the 18 ga ignition wires. All the AV mounts are sound. Kill switch still don't work. Not cluttered with faceless stickers.

I suspect the float or the float hinge pin is causing the valve to stick shut

Ill pull the air horn so you Qjet experts can give it a look.

With that being said, it would still be a good idea to remove the air horn. At least just for insoection.

You could go down through the bowl vent and try bumping the float.

I think I found the solution to my rancid gas problem. [emoji1696]

12V Fuel Transfer Pump Oil Diesel Gas Gasoline Kerosene Car Tractor Truck 5L/min

(Crap, link didn’t copy. [emoji2955])

Steve P: Did that, but it just stuck again.[emoji90]

I don’t want to be sucking in from the tank yet anyway.
