It's funny because until my late 30's I never even knew what poison ivy looked like. Out in the woods cutting firewood all the time. I knew a guy that could walk up to it, grab a handful and rub it into his forearm till the green started coming off it. Never got so much as an itch.
:)

Yup.
Some people can do it. Others cannot.

I have heard of some who say to eat the berries, and then you won't get it anymore.
I am not going to try it though.
Dig up root till you find a node about the size of a quarter, eat that and you never get it again, dad did it in 1973, he never got it again, and he would get it badly

Brother in law has a pine in his front yard. Bottom limbs near on the ground. Thick with poison ivy. Asked me to limb it up six eight foot. It would have been easy.

He hired it out.

What is the diesel VW you got?

2003 ALH/5spd Beetle with 215K.

Both sales actually went through very well, and the bike buyer thinks that his sister might want my car, so we'll see! Finished the pea gravel for the front door walkway, which ticked another "honey-do" off of the list. I'm going to help a buddy build a fire pit and rocked in surround at his place tomorrow in Wichita, after my PT appointment, so that'll be interesting. I was also fortunate enough to pick up a decent old 10gal Campbell-Hausfeld air compressor off of the farmer neighbors in exchange for mowing and trimming the main family farm. It was a double win as the horses and cattle needed some more grass. I had my flatbed truck heaped up like an old Amish hay wagon, but I only had to drive a quarter of a mile.

Carl, when you get that Vet running, I'd love to hear it. Nothing like the sound of an older Chevy Big Block to brighten the morning!!!! After I get my Triumph picked up, I'll try to get a video of it. it's a 2,300 CC inline-3 and it sounds a bit like a Rolls-Royce Merlin V12! It has a crackle and pop that sounds like a Spitfire or a p-51!! Eventually I may repaint it silver with the Air Corps Chevrons on it!

Jason, good luck on that Case. Eventually I'll have a FEL tractor that size or so, but there are a few other things that have to happen first.

This is the bike, and a picture I took of it, when my buddy told me to take it out for lunch at work a couple years ago. 2.3 liters of engine doesn't care WHICH gear you're in, or where it's at in the RPM band... It's ALL powerband!!

I’ve heard that and eat the leaves at a certain stage. But I’ve also heard and seen pics of poison ivy rash inside the throat. I think I’ll pass as well. Some one want to volunteer to try it?! Lol!

The deal on the Case fell through.
I drove an hour to look at it after speaking with the fellow that was selling it.
He told me it was ready to work. No known issues.
I get there, and he had already started it.
It was blowing blue smoke, and only running on two cylinders, and didn't have enough hydraulic pressure to raise the bucket more than a foot off the ground.
I told him I wasn't interested in something that needed that much work.
I thought maybe he was so ignorant, that he didn't know how bad it was, so I asked him as I was leaving, "You do know that it has a miss, don't you?", and he said yes...
I wasn't real interested in dealing with someone who will lie to me like that.

When it comes to a loader tractor.

For the life of me, I cannot figure out why anyone would buy anything but new..

Especially if it’s in that ~ 50 hp range or less.
Manufacturers are literally offering up damn near free money to finance them.
And some warranty them for as long as 6 years.
So for half the price of a new pickup, you got a 45 hp, 4 wheel drive loader tractor, a brush hog, box blade and trailer to haul it on. You can then take care of it and not deal with some *pretty boy’s piece of leaky *s-word.

I once worked at a JD dealership that also sold the Industrial line. The great majority of equipment brought in was beat like a government mule. If it was usable, they wouldn't trade it in, just run it. Needless to say, we didn't have much used stuff for resale that anyone would stand behind.

What kind would you buy?
I have just always been a pay with cash person, and have a hard time with the idea of making payments like that...
For curiosity's sake, I looked at a 50hp Kioti. 4wd, loader, and and and manual transmission.
$23,600.
Financing was 3.99APR for up to 84 months.

Kioti, LS, Kubota, John Deere, CNH, Yanmar

They all are either Japanese diesels or made in South Korea by Daedong.
All very capable machines and "They aren't someone elses problem"..

I like the package deals. And even a 40HP variant of these can pick up a round bale and load it.
The best machine for the money right now is LS probably.
