I have done it on both computer and phone. Now I received a notice from @exCanuck saying I will be locked out at end of February. Don’t understand.
I think it was a general notation, sent out to all members possibly telling them what’s going on if they don’t do it , but I could be incorrect .

Holy chit, if this keeps up I'm wondering if I should post a nice to know ya thread.

I access the site with 3 devices. Work desktop using Edge In Private window, my cell and my home laptop. This is a complete chit show staying/trying to log in. @exCanuck I get asked to 2 step log in every day. When I do, at least today, I had to try multiple times with the code, which takes several minutes to come via email. This seems a bit steep for a chainsaw forum. It's going to reduce usage I guarantee. Can you watch that somehow?
I took a screenshot of the error on my phone, but I type this on the work desktop and not sure if I'll be able to log-in and post it via phone. :boxing: Talk about frustrating. I'm far from tech-challenged but this is a hassle.

Been thinking the same.
Do have the stove rippin. It has two buttons
so 50/50 chance of screwing that up.

Ok, I tried all this. Now how do I know if it worked?
Signed, lost in space with tech hang over.

I can't put an app on my work computer either. Restricted access.

The In Private window doesn't store passwords and browsing history so do I have to go through this 2 step bullspit every day @exCanuck ?

I'm not downloading an app just to use a chainsaw forum. I dont use tapacrap either.

I second Jason's notion!
I shouldn't have to install a special app on my phone just to be able to log in to here.

Dumb question #3: can the creation of a password be made to require a mandatory minimal length and at least one of each - number/letter/sign?
I have been on sites where my password had to meet predetermined minimal requirements (the password field would turn from red to green) otherwise the site wouldn't let me register in the first place.

I am fairly tech savvy , but I hate hassles.
I'll keep watching for now, still a couple weeks till I get potentially locked out.

Guys, keep in mind that this is supposed to protect the forum from hacks and the forum members from fraud!

The forum is only as safe as its one members least safe password - the weakest link will break the strongest chain.

I was able to fumble my way through the process after several attempts finally reached success.
Had I the option though, I would have passed on the whole affair.
All I can say is keep trying guys you'll eventually figure it out like I did.
I have each and every time.

You'll have to do it with every different device though.

Have, each and every time.. on each device. Issue is "In Private" browsing does not store passwords so each time it's re-opend, you have to sign back in. And each time it makes me 2 step with an email that takes several minutes to come in. Ugh..

Common sense goes a long way. Don't send money to people you don't know.
