I had to do a similar repair for a friend.

here is some pics
most will be self explanatory.

here is the problem...

cut too far into the gasket area.

So I trimmed the screws .030 and cut down the middle divider so it doesnt high center.

I filled the runners with wax to keep them open and keep the jb weld where I wanted it.

I use denatured alcohol to degrease and clean the mating area.

I over filled the mating surfaces with JB weld so they flow out, and then clean up the over flow on the outside. This also will make the transfer ducts smoother because I filled the voids with jb and made a smoother runner with better transitions

Stopped by the dealer to het a couple parts and guess what i drug home.

Im so excited now. Wish i never had to work this afternoon.
One got crushed and other has bad top end. Try to make one oit of the two.

Oh ya and got the parts for my saw too lol.

$50 bucks for the two part saws.

Another question. It will hold presure but not a vacuum. How to you test for vacuum leak. When i rebuilt saw i never vac tested cause never had tester at that time. On pressure tested it.

The vac leak is quite fast so kind of thinking mabe reber i used to block exhaust and intake?

I pour thicker oil on the possible areas one by one trying to seal it up. When it holds, you've found your leak

the leak was around the spark plug hole. i got it togeather and tried it. it worked good but i took a before and after vid but realy was not much gains. cutting from the same block of wood all cuts were around the 16 second mark.
