Chances are that cheapo option won't last any worthwhile amount of time. Chinese laminated bars have a very loose gauge tolerance. The Archer chain has no safety bumper links, but their laminated bars are junk.

Yeah, you won’t get a long run on one of the Archers. Unfortunately all the others are kinda short lived too. Archer is probably worst, Panthers are unreliable, modded Stihl may last the longest.

August Hunicke sells the panthers and admits they don't hold up. Well it's been 6 months of daily use with the stihl light 04. it oils like the Valdez, and even the paint is still immaculate. Little saw still rips, yet is SMOOVE!

Other than the silly graphics the Stihl seems best. Most durable and the newer ones are very light.

What is the part number for the Stihl 1/4" pitch bars? I belive Rich Flagg installed one. Do you have to use the stihl chain to make it fit drive link wise?

in the operators manual on site 32:

Caution.

Idling speed is adjusted automatically. Do not adjust idle speed adjuster (T) .
When there is a trouble with the carburettor, such as running saw chain at idling speed, stop using the chainsaw and contact your dealer.

so what does that mean?

ist this a half autotune carburator or do they think we are idiots?

See Kevin for clutch drum. It's 1/4 0.043 chain in 14". You can use any brand in that chain, but the stihl chain stays sharp forever it seems. To make the bar fit, lay the echo bar on top to see where to line up adjuster holes. I modified the oiler hole. Love it.

I have now tested both. Doing that like the TI says. And normal, let it run to get operating Temperatur. Both works to set the carb.

Maybe its a incorrect translation to German? It says also if the high idle is not in the 6000 to 10000 RPM range, set it with the H needle. You cant set high idle or normal idle with H. You can only change idle with the L jet.

so is a bit weired...
