Last of that series was the 530. Holy sht what a screaming demon! I ran one for about 4 years. It annialted my cs 4910. It was 1 second behind a 620pw, in an 11" piece of Alaska birch.
Completely rebuilt it and gave it to a 16 yr old kid.

The CS-370 and 400 are little brothers to that saw in terms of design, just smaller and with more plastic. I've probably put more hours on my CS-400's than any others, I love 'em. The Stihl MS-250 is usually seen as the best homeowner grade saw made, and it is a very good little saw. But, I think the CS-400 has it beat in every way except engine power and I own both of them. A CS-400 tuned properly gives up little to the MS-250 and has better anti-vibes. Even with a cat delete and muff mod it is quieter than a stock MS-250. I really like my 250 but not so much that I want a second one like the CS-400.
Ferg, when I first bought my land, I started with a ms 290 and a 455 rancher. Those steaming piles of sht never held up. A cs 400 and a cs 530 replaced both and fkn owned every interior Alaska job I tackled.
