I went to a local echo dealer today to look at a 501p. Of course he has lots of 590 and 550p. No 501p. I just wanted to see how it felt.

Can you retrofit a different carb on it?

Anything is possible Pat. It's not something I like to do on a work saw though.

Are the secondaries larger than the mains the entire way through the tunnel from the factory? Thats a really nice looking jug.

No sir. The only reason they are taller is to allow the port to be really steep.

So the mains on the Echo are the smaller ports?

No sir. The main passage is a little bigger.

The only thing I want is to hear what you really think of the Echo after its assembled and broken in a little :)

I won't be breaking it in........but it belongs to a member here.

One question, is that ms362 an Mtronic model?

Yes sir. The latest version.

Have you ever tried a vise to hold the jugs while you grind em Randy?

I sometimes use my Kurt vise off the mill. Just seems easier

No Deets. I just hold it in my left hand. After doing so many I bet it would be tough for me to change now.

That's cool! Randy, do you prefer the mtronic or the carburated version? I can't wait til the owner of the echo tells us about it

I can get a little more out of the carbed version. But I like the M-T version best.
