That is a beautiful piston.

If I'm not mistaken, I would have had to take even more out to make a square edge.

I just took .030" on a 8° taper.
Yeah that's true.

Wonder what they was thinkin when the designed those jugs? Huge primary's, and way low on all the numbers

Dang Jake. That's a nice mower.

I'd love to hear what your thoughts are. The echo is cheaper by a fair amount correct?

Yes sir Pat. The Echos are very reasonably priced.

I think the carb is gonna be my choke point on this one. But, I can probably make a pretty good runner out of it.

Yeah that's true.

I wish I would have made a baseline cut with it. It's a lot different than the 500P that I was used to doing.

The numbers on the left are where the port heights are after machine work. On the right are my target numbers.

Your exhaust duration is very close to your target number. Will you work on the port to achieve 103 exactly, or do you consider 105 close enough?

I'll take it up to 103. I like 105 on most 50cc saws, but 103 is where I like the 60cc.

Great thread Randy.

It's good to do build threads every now and again. Keeps everyone interested and also serves as a reminder of the quality of work you do.

Your work always has me feeling like I gotta step up my game bud.

I don't do anything special. I think about all the wild stuff that is done on race saws......and I'm a little jealous of the skills that some of those guys have. I need to up my game a lot.
