Stock would be hands down the Jonny 2051 a close second would be the Partner 5000+. Muffler modded goes to the 026, and ported is of course the 346 IMHO. I've run them all with 18" bars and 325 chain.

i'll have to agree with @drf255. i like my 026 that my brother found in a ditch and gave to me. a little TLC and muff mod and it's the go to saw most of the time. i think that's the saw in my avatar.

Tricky !! 50cc class has turned into what I think of as the 60cc class of saws to some degree . Take the 562 and the ms 361...there both under 60cc so you could include them i suppose.
I will discount the upper end and stick closer to 50cc.... 346 xp NE would be my choice for a simpler second hand saw or a 550 xp if you want brand new.

If we're not going true 50cc then I elect my mmws357xp instead of the 2153.

For me it would be Dolly 5105. Smoothest saw
I have ran. Better than the Echo 530 I own. About the same power as the Efco 156 I have and I like the Efco really well maybe little more powerful but little bigger. Trying to finish up Husky 359 maybe will be my go to saw for a while. I pick saw to use by size of wood to cut. Will even go smaller when cutting little stuff.
But I just cut firewood for myself about 10 cords per year and have 10 saws all kinds. I hate CAD. Even starting to carry over to weed eaters. Picked one up over weekend just to see if I could fix it.

I've heard of this stihl model called the 026/260. I think it's the best.

Currently I'd have to say my 5100s ported by Poleman. Even stock it was a potent 50cc saw with excellent AV. When I eventually get my 026 Pro done, the 5100s might have some competition. I look forward to comparing them.
