This is super cool! While not anywhere near the 10+HP world, I’d be interested to see two of the same model saw, maybe from the same porter, but with different port work (ie, fingers vs none) run on the dyno for kicks. I might happen to know someone with a pair of 262s that’d fit the bill although they also have different carb setups. I’d be interested to know what you pro saw porter/builders think..? Would that be of value? I’m sure several would like a 60cc shootout 262/o36 etc mano y mano? I also understand there are time and effort constraints with operating the dyno as well and I’m certainly not trying to spend anyone else’s time. I’m just jealous of the ingenuity

Could be fun. Did something similar with the hybrid echo builds a few pages back.

Joe,

Do you know the powerhead weight of your hybrid Echo's?

They are very impressive!

Not weighed just a powerhead, but did weigh the 54mm (86cc)with a 24" lw full of fluids. That was 17.6lb

That had a plastic handle, side cover and no spikes. So maybe a few oz heavier adding the metal stuff.

Looks like my scale may have been off. Of the metal clutch cover spikes and 3/4 wrap add a good chunk.

Here is one with a 24 lw ready to cut. Metal clutch cover, dual spikes, and 3/4 wrap.

My ported Asian 660 (Flying Tiger) is on the way, and should arrive on Monday!

Anxious to see what my Asian creation can do! It has a ported Cross P+C.

Can an Asian Creation compete with the OEM beasts???

I think it runs pretty good, but we will see what the "Truth Machine" says!
I'll bet it makes around 7.5 horsepower, maybe a tad moar.

That 660 was set up for hardwood and had about 2 tanks on the chain. Plus, the saw has an addl mod since then.

I believe Mason had fresh chain intended for the cant.

I like seeing those low estimates guys, makes it easier to look good!

So Deets, you sending your hybrid and posting the results no matter what they are? Think your Hybrid can beat my Asian saw???

I'd put money on that hybrid besting the 660. Literal money.

Dom, I may just take you up on that (if he is sending the hybrid and posting results)?

We could bet the fee and return shipping cost of the next ported saw.

I have a darn good running CFB Hybrid and a darn good running MOFO 460, but neither of them will noodle hardwood like this 660.

Or, we could also just bet over/under 8 hp!
