Which one of you guy's has/had that ms661 ported and converted to carby he was even running something like 20 or 25:1 mix I think?
That saw was mental from the vids I seen got to get it on the dyno if he still has it? whoever it was I can't remember?

That was a great day, still remember it well … and it was the first day that Asian 660 was running, I had just finished it for that GTG!

It did very well in the Red Oak with a fresh chain.

I hope we have more days like it soon. This Covid fear can not continue 4 ever, it really detracts from the quality of life.

So, if I'm hearing MDL correctly, we basically have 2 pools, one for the Hp of my Flying Tiger and one for DEET's Hybrid (044/046). The cost per guess is $10, the winner get's half of each pool and Joe gets the other half (Did I explain this correctly???). If it is a virtual tie, it get's split 50/50.

So I will guess 9.5 Hp for my Asian 660 and 8.8 Hp for DEET's hybrid.

My saw should be there on Monday. Do we know the status of the DEET's Hybrid? I guess it would be best to test the saws on the same day and conditions?

Max torque on the 1200?

6.7 ftlb @ 4700 and 6.0 hp

That 1200 really fell of on the torque curve, and ran out of breath. Gaines sound be large, if you can get it into the 10k range. Its fun to see that 1 lb of pound of torque gained at around 10k is a 2 hp gain, roughly. That’s were the big gains are, the bigger saws have a harder time getting there, if the echo could carry 7 lbs longer it would really run!

Going to be fun to port.

So far all of the ported saws have been .08-.122 hp per cc...

See if it holds true with the big monster...

I’m gonna guess 8 - 8.5 for deets hybrid since that’s about what a strong 046/460 worksaw made on the ct gtg dyno. I can’t remember if his was dynoed or not there. It does look like he made some changes to it since then with no filter and no choke? That should increase the power a bit since the guys ran it in ct. Usually most ported 446 hybrids are comparable with a good ported 460... but I’m ok with being wrong.

No that saw did not have a tuned pipe on it … and no Joe is not going to run it on Alky or Nitrous!

DEETs, your saw is coming in "as is", correct?

I would tell joe to experiment with the tune on both if I were you guys. Start with the tune you usually run then try a leaner tune and a richer tune on both. Then run with a filter and then try no filter. Run the same fuel in both.

Some time ago another member was real anxious to run his ported 60 cc saw against my unported 70 cc saw for a good sized wager. It all abruptly came to a halt when I mentioned we would be using the same chain on both saws.

Sometimes, it just pays to dot your eyes and cross your tees!

These are woods port saws, the filters that are on them should stay on them. You would not cut wood w/o one.

I'll set the high side where/how the owner wants and adjust the low/idle to match.

Most people have an idea where the saw runs best

Have you seen the graphs change from tune? That is one aspect I think everyone here can learn a lot from...takes out chain speed and looks at raw powah
