I too was very impressed with Lee's 166 big bore … gets it's massive power from it's 880 piston!!! (Ha, Ha, Ha)

FYI, the TM 661 was the next strongest saw, followed closely by a TM 066/660, the 395's there that day finished further down.

I think when you get to that level, the port work is more important than the brand saw.

I also believe that different wood can change the finish order. Saws that are set up to be fast in softwood cants don't generally fare as well in hardwood, and vice versa.

That is why this dyno fascinates me so much!

I agree with this statement

I have yet to see a really high strung saw. So far everything has been a similar curve, just elevated.

The 6 ftlb was pretty neat. Curious to see some other numbers now. Some of the oldies etc...

I'm pretty sure the 661 stroker can make it some time.

Can't wait to get the big cs1200 echo on the dyno. That is a high torque lower rpm saw, see what the graph shows.
Yes, super curious on the big echo, have never ran one. Wonder if it will be over 7 lbs of torque? And it it doesn’t turn over 9500 the hp will probably be in the 8-9 range max.

This is super cool! While not anywhere near the 10+HP world, I’d be interested to see two of the same model saw, maybe from the same porter, but with different port work (ie, fingers vs none) run on the dyno for kicks. I might happen to know someone with a pair of 262s that’d fit the bill although they also have different carb setups. I’d be interested to know what you pro saw porter/builders think..? Would that be of value? I’m sure several would like a 60cc shootout 262/o36 etc mano y mano? I also understand there are time and effort constraints with operating the dyno as well and I’m certainly not trying to spend anyone else’s time. I’m just jealous of the ingenuity

The Mac 101b was rated at 12.5hp at 9k in full kart trim. The saw intake is a huge bottleneck, and likely only a 1 hp increase over a stock 125, at lest feel wise. This saw has the stock kart reeds and a small kart carb, probably not near full kart performance.
Would be cool to know thou

It does close to 11k

But not sure where it is going to be...

Going to guess 8hp and 6.3 ftlb.

Is this your saw? Be fun to see what the oldies put out

My ported Asian 660 (Flying Tiger) is on the way, and should arrive on Monday!

Anxious to see what my Asian creation can do! It has a ported Cross P+C.

Can an Asian Creation compete with the OEM beasts???

I think it runs pretty good, but we will see what the "Truth Machine" says!

Yes, I already instructed Joe to do that. What is your prediction?

Hey, I think it is a good running saw and I'm hoping for some good #s, but if I wrong I'm wrong and I am not afraid to let everyone know.

I would not bet that it would beat a ported 395, but I would bet a good amount of money that it will destroy most stock ones!

Cool, what is you guess to the power?

I'm hoping it will be between 9 + 10, will be very happy if it breaks 9!

More importantly, I'm looking for a broad power band. I like to mill and noodle with 660s.

This one has impressed me with it's ability to noodle large hardwood rounds.

Will be very interesting. The one I put together with only a muffler mod was 7.1hp

Everything else was straight out of the box.
