No surprise here. Keith @psuiewalsh has been bringing his SCarr 395 to gtg’s for years. First time I ran it I knew I’d just graduated to the big leagues. It continues to impress me every time I run it. I love that saw. Now we need a 394 for comparison.
Mines pretty much stock right now. Just a muffler mod and timing advance is all that's done to it. Might be a decent baseline?

I ran that saw and another SCarr saw he had, I believe a 550XP. Both very impressive.

I was thinking a SCarr394... See how they compare. Stock vs. stock, everyone always says the dual port 94 has more balls. I think after porting the quads really sing.

10.6 is the top number...

What will be the next to the top?
Would love to see the stroker 395 in comparison to this ported 395. I am going to guess most of the bigger saw won’t brake into 8hp mark without porting, Was cool to see the 395 well into the 6 lbs-ft of torque too, it reved really well too!

No replacement for displacement. Gotta be a 3120 or 084/88. Or and old Mac with a 101b, but you said peak hp and not torque.

Been told the 101b’s were 19hp on gas and 30 on nitro, but that is anecdotal.

Maybe Cole’s @Redfin built 661 stroker, an @srcarr52 395 stroker, a @Moparmyway 661 or some other anomaly.

These charts make more sense. I am a Stihl man through and through, but once you need to do production and you’re in big wood a 395 walks away from an 066. Just the way it is, bigger and heavier and just gets the job done.

Sometimes the truth hurts, sometimes not.

That would be a hell of a shootout. Johns 661 stroker made muh pants tight.

Hell, I like the power curve. The modded saw doesn't just have more power at the top-end, it is pulling more torque right off the bottom. That is a 'WORK SAW'.

I have yet to see a really high strung saw. So far everything has been a similar curve, just elevated.

The 6 ftlb was pretty neat. Curious to see some other numbers now. Some of the oldies etc...

I'm pretty sure the 661 stroker can make it some time.

Can't wait to get the big cs1200 echo on the dyno. That is a high torque lower rpm saw, see what the graph shows.

When we had the long bar test a few years back uncle lee pulled out his 166 big bore just for kicks... and it just literally sh!t on all the ported 066, 661 and 394/395’s. I’d like to see that on the dyno. That is the most impressive saw I ever ran in big wood.... other than maybe his 797/101b saw. It left a lasting impression on me when I ran it a few years ago.

I feel the 395 strokers have more torque but this 395 always seems to win in a race, I think it carries power out just a littler further.
