Everyone should own an 090 for nothing more than to remind them all new saw's are featherwhights lol
I remember when Stihl saw's used to be heavier than Husky saw's and the Husky guy's would say Stihl saw's are heavy pigs but now it's the other way around the Husky guy's say it's because Husky saw's are build with more meat and build to last unlike that other rubbish saw manufacture lol
I can't keep up not sure if a heavy saw is better or a light saw anymore is to confusing for me o_O

Yup. Also have to remember a lot of people on here are hobbyists. Nothing wrong with that, it is just a different perspective point.

Wow.

Great post, and fantastic information.

I've not heard anything out of Neal in awhile. Are you still in regular contact with him?

Not for a while. Mebbe 4 years now. We mostly contacted each other via the, uh, other site.
There's a bit of awareness now, so I am seeing more stuff from members from all over pop up.
It's not a huge repository, but it gives us an idea what's goin on.
I don't spend much time working on the gallery, really. Stuff usually just drops in my lap after following a few leads.
I really should have been more thorough citing who owns each and every photo(Though I did always ask permission). I was more concerned about the data points.
If you DO recognize a photo as yours, don't hesitate to contact me if you would like to be cited.

Thanks to every one who contributed!

Wes

Yeah I get that and I know guy's are passionate about saw's just sometimes we forget just how good we have it now days I think.
One thing I guess we all should be grateful for is moden saw's are legitimately light and have way more power than what was probably considered a powerful 2 horsepower mechanical aid of yesteryear...

And, for the record, a 32” ES with twice sharpened RM ........I checked 2 different setups, both the sameView attachment 265925
You can’t check with a twice sharpened chain, that would be like weighing with a 1/2 tank of fuel.

your never gunna use a saw with a half tank and a twice sharpened chain. Duh

16 ounces in a pound... just bolt three bolts to the cylinder... leave one bar nut off... only run one dog... take off the chain catcher... run a wore out sprocket... and never I mean never fill up your gas and oil all the way. It will destroy the balance... plus how else do you get a break? Chain... new chain is way too heavy! Only chain with one sharpening left... oh yeah and bars can’t forget... you can’t run a brand new bar unless you grind all the paint off! Lol

It’s ironic we make such a big deal about a saws weight and a few ounces is a deal breaker and makes it too heavy, but none of us pay any attention to the bathroom scale. That’s the weight that affects us. Read a statistic the other day- Every pound a person drops- takes 7lbs of pressure off our bones and joints.

Some thing that we carry/use occasionally does not matter.

My bones could stand to lose about 420 lbs of pressure
