262 is like a gateway drug. Then it’ll be 272, 346, 288, 372, 394...

I know ya do, just haven't heard from you in a while and wanted to coax the bear out of the cave...HowdyLol. I like a good saw, period. My preference and everything I have happens to be Stihl. Bars, chains, everything.
But I do love a good running strong saw regardless of brand.
LMAO. You guys are goading me. Lol
I dont own a 272, actually, nor do I own a 288.No 272 love?

Mahle and KS left A B C pistons and came with a piston who fall between A and B piston, AB.I never knew anything about this "A or B" cylinder and piston stuff. Has this practice carried through to more recent models too?
Any love for a 266 Tor?I dont own a 272, actually, nor do I own a 288.

Sounds like you won't be running out of stuff to do anytime to soon.I got one 266 project myself, xpg from 1986
I've priority those small saws the last year knowing parts dry out, when I'm done with them its time for my 266 project and 2×372 projects.
Gotta finish them Mike![]()
Fix that 272. They’re real good. I have a 288 but honestly haven’t run it much. You ll like a 272 if you like a 288I’ve never owned any other than a 288.
And a 272 in pieces.

You take it or an 044. Or whatever stihl had to match it in that era?Meh.
The 272 is now running, as of yesterday.

Never see a stihl for sale around here. I would have to find a junk one and fix it. I haven’t run any larger stihls at all. Even trashed ones bring good money on Craigslist. I’ve got too many saws now. But I think I’ll leave room for one stihl. Just for curiosity sakeYes.

Uncle has to run a fleet of 268/371s just to keep up with 1 little ol’ 461.
