VOTE NOW WHY DID YOU JOIN OPE

I just caught myself reminiscing How and why I joined Arborist Site then How and when I ended up here on OPE.
AS was for me I needed answers on my Stihl 056 MAGNUM II then a few months later I was introduced to OPE by Definitive Dave. (First I knew Dave was on AS)
I began thinking that it would be a good thread for members to share what drew them join to OPE.
If you wish to ignore the truth you can embellish as much as your imagination is. able. Don't be surprised with comments you get.

What is it about chainsaws that is so addicting? Feeling the power in your hands? Getting to make something go boom? Knowing that we are killing mosquitoes and giving Californians cancer? (No offense intended @davidwyby)

Ever try and chop down a tree with an Axe? Damn near impossible. At my age being able to down and buck an 18-to-24-inch tree in a few is incredible. There is a bit of a thrill but that goes away. What remains is the incredible work that can get done with limited effort and time.

When I was a kid, I used to send in cards from magazines for free catalogs of OPE and farm equipment. When I was 8 or 9 I asked my dad if I could have a chainsaw for my birthday and he looked at me like I had two heads. My mom thought WTF is wrong with a kid who wants to run the weed eater on a 100 degree day. Until I was in my late 20's, I seriously had no idea there were other people on planet Earth that liked OPE for reasons beyond a means to get work done. I'm still weird but at least I don't feel so bad about it anymore.
