I ran one of the 592xp's Randy built yesterday and today. If I let it sit for longer than a few minutes I would push the primer button in 4 times and the saw would fire within 3 or 4 pulls. I don't know that 2 days is exactly a foolproof test study but it's a start, lol. Awesome saw but I can't imagine trying to start it without using the decomp button, it just has too much compression.

You should try it when it’s been sitting in the back of the truck all night at 10°.

Not a fan

And what is the general consensus, with the 592 being a hair lighter. Would there be a any reason to buy a 585? I've logged many hours on my 390, but partly because it was lighter than my 395 or 394.

Ya know they only have 140psi compression stock at sea level. Ported ones are probably 165psi.

Am doing you have any videos of 592s and 585 in decent wood, with a long bar? Been wanting to see. Seems most my searches on YouTube produce smaller bars, or wood.
I try to never post videos. YouTube makes my ass itch.

Ignition timing has more to do with the starter kicking than compression, does make them a little aggressive to start, you better be ready. Cold does make it even worse

Lighter than what? 390?395? 585? A 592 is lighter than both the 390 and 395, not much lighter than a 390 but handles better than both

We have a 592XP here now that won't run right. Can't find anything wrong with it. Today we are going to try a carb and coil from a different saw to see if that fixes it.
If it hasn’t been tried already, put a piece of new tight-fitting hose on the carb barb that goes to the purge bulb and plug it. It doesn’t make sense being on the other side of the carburetor, but if any air can get into that line, the saw will not run right

There were new 592 having intake manifold gaskets separating some , causing air leaks and run problems , I’m assuming a pressure, vac test would confirm that .
