Cell phone since I usually cut alone. Usually the latest project and one of the Dolmars for reliability. Chains,chaps,earplugs,derby and either the dump truck or the farm tractor. Hopefully my incredibly rusty W300 winch truck will be going(and whoeing) soon.

I take a small fabric tool bag with most of what has already been mentioned. Small spares that have kept me cutting in the past that I also keep are; rim sprockets, needle bearing, clutch drum C-clips, small grease gun, zip ties, knipex needle nose elbow pliers & linesmans. Carb adjusting drivers/OEM tuning flathead, wire, nail file to clean out bar rails, sparkplug, T27 & T25 Wiha torx drivers, size 8 & 10 Wiha nut drivers, screnches in 2 sizes, small shifter, length of starter cord rolled up, toothbrush and a cloth rag. All this fits in a small section at the bottom of this tool bag.1475369648327.jpgGloves, glasses, earmuffs/plugs, trimmer line, reserve mini bar oil and other stuff goes in the top. Its a small grab-bag setup that always goes where ever saws, blowers, polesaws, clearing saws, hedge trimmers and mowers venture off too. Served me well for 5 years despite the top zip not working.....found the bag in near new condition at local rubbish tip when disposing a load of green waste.

I have a bag that will hold wedges, chains, hard hat, extra sprockets/washers/e clips and bearings along with extra barneys and stuff like that. If I'm hiking through the woods a good piece I throw the axe in the bag and zip it up around the handle. Usually 1 saw with a backup in the truck. Anywhere from a. Quart of gas to 5 gallons

I have a similar bag that I carry all of my stuff in.

I got me a good deal on an '87 wrangler. It hauls everything I need for cutting. Best part is that when I'm finished I don't have to put it all away. I do have to put it back in the Jeep, I guess, but that's pretty easy. Sure beats the old system, a wheelbarrow.

rps20161001_211700_912.jpg

I usually keep it full with gas, oil, my GB splitting maul, my x7 and x27, several wedges, a saw-specific toolbox with files, spare chains etc, a general toolbox with sockets, wrenches, pliers, etc, a couple of log chains, a pickaroon, a 30" logrite "mill special" cant hook, drinking water, hard hat, ear muffs, safety glasses, and chaps. I think that's about it.

Oh wait, saws. I usually put some of them in if there's room. One always rides in between the window and the rollbar on the right side. Then I toss in two or three more.

Normally bring a bigger saw with a 36", mid size saw with 25", one with an 18", and a ms200t just in case. I have a craftsman toolbox I bring with spare plugs, chains for each saw, wedges, small sledge, hatchet, hand saw, scrench, few pulleys, then a 2 ton come-a-long, few chains, gas and oil. Normally all that covers anything that comes up!

I forgot to add that I always have my phone, as others have mentioned. In addition, I bring a "trauma-pack" that I bought at REI. It's got that corn starch stuff that stops major bleeding. Hope to god I'll never need it, but it's there if I do. I also leave my bernzomatic MAPP torch in the Jeep. They're handy for all sorts of stuff, especially lighting fires. Never know when you're gonna need to keep warm.

One thing about first aid kits. I took a great one day chainsaw safety class through FISTA. The instructor said if only took one thing away from the class it should be: show your cutting partner where your first aid kit is. If you're cutting, and have an accident, the time it takes to explain where the kit is in your Jeep/truck/whatever, which is undoubtedly full of junk is wasted time. If everyone knows where the kit is, everyone is safer.

Spare chain, files, wedges, hatchet, gloves, muffs, helmet, chaps and most importantly a buddy. Usually my brother or wife depending where I'm cutting. I never cut alone. Being a firewood guy gives me that option. I'm sure it would be different if I were making a living with my saws.

When you go cut, what items do you take along with you besides bar oil and gas? I take the following;

Not pictured here is my sidearm. I never leave the house without my trusty Glock 26 on my side. Though it might be cool to see what others take, maybe get some ideas.
I bring all my geae, ropes rigging, tools. Pole saws. Chokers. All my saws. Because one time I left one thing I needed behind. So that was a lesson. Even if I think or know it's straight forward I bring it all....

I'm no pro, by any stretch, but I find my list has grown over the years. Most of my cutting happens up in the sticks near deer camp, often while alone. Like @exSW I always have a cell. I can't count the number of times I've trudged back to camp because I needed another saw, forgot screech, needed an axe, etc.

Generally, I've got ppe of chaps, gloves, boots, glasses, helmet with shield and hearing protection. I haven't brought first aid kit, but need to change that...

If I'm not walking, and can use the truck or 4-wheeler, I tend to have 2 saws. Wedges, axe, scrench, sharpener or spare chains, gas and bar oil.... Ummmm, I think that's it.

Oh, also the cant hook...
