It depends if u want a more modern saw or vintage mag. I only have $350 into my P-61. So for the occasional big job it's hard to beat. Newer stuff may be faster but it's also much more money. The Pioneer was the best way for me to get a "big" saw and it still puts a smile on my face.

And I was not impressed by my Mac 795, 550, super 550 or a Mac 105 I had made a cut with. At least not compared with my ported 395.

I'll see your "big Pioneer" and raise you a 99cc alcohol racerimage.jpeg

Methanol, I'm hunting for methanol!!!
Race track is the best bet. That or a hot rod shop. The VP distributor gave me some places that sell it but 2 are over 60 miles one way.

All of the tracks closed near me. Housing developments with nail polished guys complained enough about the noise that local politicians sided with them. I might have a NAPA near me that might be able to get it ............

I have two old 100cc saws and my favorite is the 2100 versus Poulan S-6000 aka Dolmar 152/153 for the following reasons The 2100 is FOUR pounds lighter with same size bar, but Husky has the lighter chain 3/8 vs .404.. The husky air filter can be accessed with one screw, Dolmar 2 screws and You get to the plug at same time. Husky have to remove top cover more screws. I do like the location of manual oiler and choke and kill switch on Husky better. You also need an allen wrench to remove air filter on Dolmar . All in all I think the biggest advantage goes to the 2100.
One other point is gas and oil are next to each other on Husky, watch what You are doing!!

I added a Big Bore to an MS 660 last year at the owner's request. He says it will stay even or beat his MS 661 R. Not sure why some guys make requests like this but I guess my upgrade rates are a bit low.

Hands down a Masterminded 395. It has Mac 125 torque and close to 346 RPM. It will pull a 50" bar just plain stupid strong and more if you can oil it. Way more power, smoother, handles better, and much lighter than a 2100 Husky, stock 088, 750 Homie, 111s Jonny, likely a 153 & 603 or any 6 cube Mac sans an 895 when the bars get 60" and above. I suspect it would best a Homie 1050 and 1130 unless again, the bar is 60" and above. For vintage fun, a Poulan 655 is a hard 6 cube to beat with a 36" bar.
You ain't running a 60" on a 1050. 36" of full-comp 46RS is all mine wants.
