Is it strato? Strato engines can be cold blooded. Try richening the L jet 1/8 turn and see if that is helpful (readjust the idle screw if you need to).Got a question....Do modded saws take a bit more to warm up than stock saws? I've noticed it takes longer to warm up. The trigger/acceleration is "spongy" until it's really nice and warmed up. Then it hits its rhythm and feels really good....With my other saw I just widened the exhaust. With this one I also enlarged the lower transfer openings, and it takes longer to get into its groove and also burns gas quite a bit faster...
Tough question … bottom line is a ported saw may be more finicky than stock … or not. It all depends on the details.

Muffler mod could take some heat out more efficiently too.
I think I have one I can see if the coil is good. You can have the saw if you can put it to use. Let me knowCleaned this one up today, no spark so it will go over the to museum just for looks.

Hey all got this beater out and ran the carb through the UC and put in a new kit. Piss rev hits 15.4K and barely stroking turned it back to 14.6
