Still working on two 372s, two 55s and a couple small Husqys. I HATE waiting on parts

Oh, yeah, I just finished the 340->353 build, filled the lower transfer pocket in the cyl base extension and beveled them to around 45* to feed the lower transfers. Made about 10 cookies and it stopped oiling, the plastic oil pump melted. That saw SCREAMS! Who says 353 top ends don’t rev-up???

IIRC Mitch Weber builds a 353 that eats 346's.
Shep
I thought to port one of those 353's top ends and compare it against a ported NE.

That said, I'm not in the same class as Mitch Weber is, few is!

Mac 1-46. I got the Nova chip in and a new plug, and now it fires on prime. Time to try rebuilding the carb. I’m definitely not an expert, so any tips are welcome.

What kit do I need? The only marks are inside under the cover (fuel pump side?), 57272A.

Or is there a better replacement I should be looking at?

OK, so the squish was tighter than the solder initially indicated, so this saw is getting a base gasket. As a result, I lowered the intake a bit to make up for the gasket, + a little! Also, I checked the upper transfer by looking through the spark plug hole while shining the light in the exhaust port and got a more accurate reading. Here are my final #s: Sq .020, Ex 97, Tr 123, In 83.

You asked for Pics: Lowering the Intake, Sanding the Squish Band, Widening the top of the exhaust (both sides, hard to see), Degree Wheel with pointer.
You did good MustangMike and with those numbers you're going to have one heck of a saw good job.

So I've a new 880, I read but can't remember where that if you put a 441 coil and a 084 carb will give a noticeable boost in power also a muff mod. It will be used for milling so any thoughts
I believe it's an 084 boot and carb, and an ms361 coil
