Yea that's a little more than what I have lol but I'm going to hopefully be getting another 064 av to build but it always seems like you just can't stop you just got to at least have one more. Lol

Got better pics of the cylinder damage?

No. It made me sick to my stomach to take that pic. There is a nasty little nick at the top of the exhaust port similiar to the piston scoring but is only about 0.030” long/high in the cylinder wall. If the saw was mine I would toss another piston in it and try to run it as is. But, it’s a customer’s saw. On top of that it is the last remaining of the 3 saws he bought to start his business. Sentimental value is extremely high with this one.

A little machine work and a few minutes with a burr will fix that.

That looks more like a piece of the piston pin bearing than a piece of the circlip stuck to the top of that piston.

Bummer that it happened, sounds like you did all the right stuff.

I just ordered a Meteor Piston and other parts to get the one I got running. Too much OEM stuff not to do it (case halves, carb, coil, cylinder, etc.).

OEM cyl, Meteor piston, OEM wriat pin, OEM circlips, Caber rings
That sucks lot's of money down the drain there flush out the crank and case really well for the money I would go with a oem piston if you can afford it I know here there only asking $80 from my Stihl dealer.

Do you know how much has been removed from the base?

Either way, JB isn't a problem in the intake
0.040 from the base if I remember correctly. It might have been 0.060. I’d have to check my notes. I remember the recipe was 0.020 from squish and i got to 0.019 and called it good.

It chaps my ass because I just put brand new bearings in it. I’m not going to chance it; its getting split and another set of bearings. Again, its not my saw and the sentimental value is high on this saw. To be honest; I am utterly crushed that I wrecked the cyl on a saw that meant so much to the owner.

Looks like it's running a pop up?

If that's the case, machining the band would fix the cylinder if you went to a normal piston. It wouldn't affect the intake timing
