Dang meng! I am not gettin any alerts and im falling behind:D i guess a lot of good responses from everyone on my cylinder issue. Thanks. so its deff a keeper and not a flipper. I dont like selling anything. So i think i will try and fix it up. It does have removible transfer cover but im not ready to try my hand at porting. I dont have a clue. I could open up exhaust from outside and feel comfortable but that may be my extent of dabbling rite now. I like the idea of me being able to take the saw down all the way to a pile of parts replacing whats bad, reassembling it and making it come to life once again. The porting may come with time, for now ill just put big holes in mufflers:D

Built my friend @rattler a 262xp tonight. I cleaned the original KS cylinder and it looked Brandy new, put a new Meteor piston in it and new OEM seals, MM with a dual port out let now. I am sure he will port it and make it a runner real soon.View attachment 140448 View attachment 140449 View attachment 140450 View attachment 140451
Beautiful saw Dustin,
Mike build super strong 262's, the one he did for me has superb trottle respond, probleby the fastest saw I own in terms of trottle respond as well.
Even if we live with a pond between us he is a buddy.

Went with a different color on this one instead of black I went with blue because my lady love's blue and this is another way of her being OK of me having a more than one saw. Lol. IMG_20180908_123715.jpg next week it will be breathing fire.

question,
What type is the one you use on your dremmel? And what is the cornering on it?

120 is what I been using for removal. Trying a 80 now too for the worst of the worse cases to see.
Cornering? The pieces bend to form if that is what your asking.

This was a pig in a pok that really worried me driving three hours to get. Story was daughter selling recently passed fathers stuff. I asked her to at least try to pull the cord and if it would pull out I would head her way. It did. Drove three hours with tools and some gas to shoot down the carb. Got there finally. Picked up the saw, pulled the cord a little and compression felt awesome. Shook it and it had plenty of fuel in it, so I pulled the choke and it it popped on the 4th pull and fired up and ran on 5th [emoji41]. This is only the second 288 that I’ve had, but the first one had one too many hands on it before I got it. This saw has one bolt that has been replaced and everything else is original and on it. Non decomp and it runs sweet! Needs a good cleaning and a 32” b&c and it’ll be good to go. Got it for a steal and stoked to have it.
