A couple of the big girls are getting some muff modifications, the deflector is the end of a p41 pioneer muffler. The deflector is cast aluminium.

Next is the 394xp is getting double "Ds", obviously an OEM 288 deflector was needed . I will probably be replacing the bar studs also in preparation for big bars.

250 Merc ProXS Four Stroke on a bass boat that went boom at 3.3 hours. Guy was taking off, heard a pop and it died. Merc authorized a complete engine replacement which the lead tech and I had done in less than 2 hours.

So last week a MS460 came in that would not start.

Gave it a full tune up (plug, air filter, fuel filter) and adjusted the carb and it started and ran just fine.

Owner now says it dies after running for a bit. I'm thinking maybe a bad coil, but any other ideas would be appreciated.

I’d give it a BGD, MM (2 1/4” holes), and TA (.020”)

And check the tank vent and rebuild the carburetor

Impressive to see such a high profile porter remembers my modifications so well!!!

Short of actual porting, they work very well on most 440 and 460 stihls.

I think of them as a "poor man's upgrade".

This was earlier, Troy Bilt push mower with a plastic carb Briggs. I got it running for her about a month and a half ago and she called me last weekend saying that it wouldn't run for more than 30 seconds at a time. Found that she picked up a slug of water in her fuel. Drained and dried tank and carb. Fresh fuel and running good again.

So yesterday morning the guy comes back with the 460 and says it will no longer start.

So I take the easy way out and replace the tank vent on the spot.

Saw starts right up and has not come back yet! Thanks Kevin!
