Tested the Excell and it did good except for a leaky gun which I recommended for replacement to the customer. His generator is up next for an oil leak diagnosis, it seems to be the rear main crank seal. If it is I'll recommend he take it to the local generator/electric motor repair place as I don't get involved in disassembly of generator heads. Also realized that the shop is starting to look like a real small engine repair place.....a good problem I guess...

Pics of the weird MS 880 muffler and set up. Two clips held in place with a steel spring clip! Muffler looks to be one piece, thick, cast aluminum.

Scored P+C was a little worse than I expected, with noticeable reduction in diameter of the piston top. However, no groves in cylinder, so it should clean up.

Hope none of the metal go in the bearings, I will flush it well. Sorry cylinder pic was not clearer, transfer actually started to close Ex port!

MS 880 cylinder is a Mahle. The transfers look excellent, the Ex could be a little wider and the In a little lower (I'm sure).

It has a circled A on the base, upper left is "1", upper right is "5", lower left is "0", lower right is "20". Can anyone tell me if these #s mean anything?

Lapped the valves on the Generac cylinder head. Came out great. Changed the oil and filter on this Craftsman generator but it wouldn't start yesterday. It'll be on the bench tomorrow. Had 2 generators dropped off for repair yesterday as well. I better get my butt in gear.

One of my customers came in today to pick up a couple of saws. They were in for some light maintenance and service. He says “I got something to show ya” with a BIG grin....

Chinese or Brazil made bosch? The Chinese ones are horrid. One made it about a month on our 390xp before it ran like crap. I toss them for ngk or champion as soon as I see them now.
