Chinese or Brazil made bosch? The Chinese ones are horrid. One made it about a month on our 390xp before it ran like crap. I toss them for ngk or champion as soon as I see them now.

I’m with ya’. NGK are the quality standard. There will always be a few bad ones that slip through QC. That being said tho, they are long lasting and dependable. The China Bosch plugs suck

Look closely at the electrode, substantial bevel. Cheap *s-word. It would have taken a decade to do that to a green Bosch plug

Craftsman generator ran for an hour to diagnose a leaking rear main crank seal. Started right up, I must have flooded it really bad Saturday afternoon tipping it up to degrease it. Just need to change the plug once it's cooled off. Stihl MS170 sporting a massive 12" bar got a new carb and test ran and idle speed adjusted as needed. Again just need to toss a new plug in it once it's cool.

Pics of the weird MS 880 muffler and set up. Two clips held in place with a steel spring clip! Muffler looks to be one piece, thick, cast aluminum.
I would suspect that someone swapped that cyl at some time. The cast aluminum clip on muffs were standard for the 088’s.
Edit: the 088 muffler bolts to the crankcase, maybe yours was a transition model. I see yours bolts on too .

I don’t think this is what heli coil had in mind for this application. Lol. The hits just keep on ah comin’

That is not a helicoil. That looks like the insert used in the repair kits for the Ford 5.4L spark plugs.
Used when the plug blows out of the cyl head.
You couldn’t screw it all the way in there, would be way too long. Wow, that’s thinking outside the box.

Homelite generator that needs a carb. Inlet needle is hopelessly stuck in its bore. Carb was overflowing....

Fired up my 61 to 272XP conversion and my 357XP that came from @rattler that I built early this year. Both fired right up and they both just needed a teensy carb tweak. Have a new stop lever and harness coming for the 357 as the terminal keeps popping out of the lever and I have to choke it to kill it.

Had a customer pick up his generator and pressure washer. My work pile is getting smaller so I'll have a little bit more time to work on my own stuff. Jammed out to some Joe Diffie.

We agreed that I will get the PP5020 and the Ryobi in order and keep the Remington and McCulloch. Remington will get cleaned up and moved to the museum, the DE50 will be for parts.

A year or two ago I did a muff mod for a guy that said he had a real strong running 066. Well, it got even stronger and he told everyone he loved how it ran (and still does).

So today he dropped off an 044 and asked it I could do the same for it, although he says it also runs real good.

It is a 12 mm, straight fin, black lever 044. Squish is .028, so I will not do a BGD. I'll give it a tune up and mod the muffler, remove the carb limiters and advance the timing. I also repaired a break in the handle with PL premium, and will add an Elastostart pull rope + handle.

As he looked around, he also liked the Wormy Hickory bench I made for some guy on LI, so he also wants one of them! I'm staying very busy this year!
