They outlawed the methylene chloride stuff late last year. Too many goons huffing it I guess. The new stuff works but it's not nearly as fast.
Hysterical.

Around 35 years ago in chem lab, Methylene Chloride was considered “safe” enough to wash one’s hands with. It was the go-to solvent because it was so safe. Thank god I didn’t believe anyone back then, just like now.

Methylene chloride was used for extracting oils out of organic material like plants and pine chips.
It evaporates at 80 to 90 degrees.
If you needed to add another layer of fiberglass to a boat hull you were building it could be used to soften the last layer to increase adhesion to the new layer.
Cancer and liver damage was the reasons for the EPA to outlaw it.
It was also used to extract the oils out of weed, making hash oil.

Building a few 372's from parts. First 372's ive built so slow going with the puzzle. Don't have all the parts but enough to justify the builds. Small hurdle i just came across. Spring AVs on tank r MIA. So i start researching and pricing as usual and i see there r 2 diff part numbers for the springs. So now with the questions.....
1. Being there is 2 diff part numbers for front and back springs i assume the spring length is different, or something is different? But what is different?
2. Can u use the same spring for front and back AV's if they r the same part #?
3. Besides part number can u visually tell the difference between a standard and hard spring? Like the color of the plastic end cap? IMG_8984.PNGIMG_8985.PNG

Thanks Marshall. I just see that that the standard r 01's and the hards r 02's. But front to back have different part numbers altogether. Just wondering what the difference is. Longer, shorter, different thickness coils? Diameter?

No problem bud, I still think its just the stiffness of the springs, but I've been wrong before, lol

Yes. His workers no habla, and put the stihl 2.5 gallon mix to 5 gallons and usually score the pistons. If they're a year or older he sells them to me for $100 and buys new ones. They average burning up 2-3 saws every couple of months.

Two cycle week coming up.... backpack blower got a new fuel tank but I also found it flooding out...opened up the carb and found a core plug floating around freely on the metering side (circled in red). Tapped plug back in with my Walbro tool kit and pressure tested the inlet needle/seat at 5 psi with my Mityvac pressure vacuum tester. Held that 5 psi for 5 hours no problem. Also have the Husqvarna trimmer to check out, has a suspected carb problem. Going to make good use of my Mityvac kit this week.

But he saves a ton of money on labor cost. [emoji6]
