Klotz super at 40:1 is still to much oil for firewood cutting.

I run 50:1 now and it's about right, klotz lubes better so the problems people have with it being dirty Is from using way to much oil,32:1 is silly for cutting firewood,no way can it burn all of it.

Certain oils maybe more is better but this isn't one of those oils,50:1 is more than enough with klotz.
Are any of your saws ported?

Everyone, porting is kinda what I do.:)
Sorry lol.

I do kind of wonder if 50:1 is safe with some oils even in ported saws. Klotz is known for lubrication and even at50:1 some have plenty of oil left behind.

Now some oils like 2R which I do like I prefer at 32:1

R50 at 32:1 was not to bad to me but I never thought about decreasing my ratios until a few weeks ago

40:1 is what I recommend for my customers to run but with klotz it's a little to much still. All I see from it is a nice wash and carbon after a couple years use.

I have a Husky 323L trimmer that I've only ran on Stihl ultra 50:1. It's always left a nasty, dripping mess out the exhaust. I've pulled the cat, retuned and it still doesn't burn clean. The same mix runs clean in my Fs250r trimmers. Any thoughts on this?

A dripping mess can only be from a rich condition.

That was my first thought too. Even after the cat removal and retune I still have an oily mess running out the exhaust. My tuning can't be that bad if this is the only trimmer with a issue.

Are husqvarna trimmer coils rev limited? Never thought about that, but maybe that's my tuning issue. Or?

I wondered if it was just me or the oil I was using. What do you run in yours? I'm switching everything over slowly to K2. We'll see how that works.
Sorry I've side tracked a good oil thread.

I've used lots of different oil including K2 they all pretty much made a mess. Never a problem in anything else though.

It's been happening way before the cat delete. It will leave blisters on my forearm after running for a extended period of time with a short sleeve shirt. Definitely not lacking for heat.

I run my new Stihl at 50:1 on Stihl Ultra. It's great oil and the saw is under warranty. I run the rest of my my saws and leaf blower on Sthil HP at 40:1 and a splash of Sea Foam. Sthil HP is the best conventional oil I've used. Husky weed eater I will be running it on the Stihl Ultra this year. Warranty expired last year. Had been running it exclusively on Husqvarna LS but I didn't like the carbon build up I was seeing. At 50:1. Both Stihl oils burn a lot cleaner. And the Ultra oil apears to have cleaning properties.
