That thing is great for racing engines, but not day to day use. No corrosion inhibitors (calcium sulfonate), you’ll end up with corroded crankshafts and bearings if using it in high humidity or not often enough. Yes it happened to me first hand. Saber is better for tools if you really care about that snakeoil brand. Personally I use Motul 800 offroad 33:1 with E10 gas and its handling abuse great (milling). What more is it to ask than getting 2000+ hours of life out of a top end?

Honestly the brand doesnt seem to matter that much when it comes to wear, the biggest variable for a pro user is the amount of oil used. 50:1 seems to kill top ends and bearings prematurely, 33:1 seems to be where the curve flattens and its not a big gain going to 25:1
Everyone always says the same thing. Likely just repeating the same false rumor. Amsoil says differently as posted above.

Dominator doesn’t have a fuel preservative. Other than that, it’s the best and cleanest I’ve ever seen used in a chainsaw.

Amsoil says it does have corrosion inhibitors. The oil testing guru has had metal sitting in it for over 6 months and no corrosion. You can call it snake oil if you wish, lots of guys here use it with very good results. You won't change any of ours minds.
We all know Dominator causes rust… The internet said so!!!

Previously Dominator didn’t have any rust inhibitors the new formula does. My bottle (maybe 5 years old) says it was for race engines with frequent tear downs

Above this post someone mentioned calcium sulfonate as being a corrosion inhibitor. It's really not. It's a detergent that happens to also neutralize acids so it has some usefulness in the ihibition of corrosion. All air cooled two cycle oils use either calcium or magnesium suffocates.
As for dominator anti corrosion abilities, ester based oils are not good at this no matter what you do. This is because they break down very easily when air and moisture are present. It's just one of their properties. If your worried about it just fog your engines when storing long term. Simple fix.

I fog mine by holding full throttle and full choke to shut it off... at least on the intelligently designed models that let you do that. Choke, throttle, & off switch should be independent of each other in my opinion.

I have seen some oil lose its color when exposed to air for a year.

When I know that I am done using my saw(s) for the day I blip the throttle and engage choke.

In theory that will flood the engine with fuel mix and as such splash its innards with excess oil.

The problem with doing this is that you're flooding the engine with liquid fuel, which washes oil of the internal parts and pools it in the case.
It takes about 5 seconds to remove the filter and give it some fogging oil until it dies.

Maybe. I like to think the gas evaporates quickly enough off the hot engine surfaces leaving the oil behind. A few slow pulls to let the vapor out.

When the choke is applied it overwhelms the engine with liquid fuel. Especially when done so until it dies.
