Any thoughts on golden Spectro? Thats all we used to run in our dirt bikes. We ran it 50:1 sunoco 94 and they got run hard, never had any oil related issues.

Whatever you do, do not use this stuff. There's another thread here that says this is the worst. I'm going to try to give this quart to cut4fun...heard he takes it off your hands for free:p:D

I havent seen an oil that lubes in the bottomend better than Klotz. Havent used Dumode but guess we will have to wait for Brian or Mike to open one up to see. Im not sure about the Castor in the Klotz Super Chris and I sure havent got the run time on mine to give a long term opinion but ive decided to switch to the original Klotz Techniplate thats 100% synthetic with no Castor2016-02-28-14-27-21-755798871.jpeg

Down at Tree Monkey's today. Scott and I both ran the ported 661 with 36” tsumura bar - .404 104dl chains...

8pin 404 RSLF
8pin 404 RS
7pin 404 RS
7pin 404 RSLF

We ran each of them. 8pin responded to hand pressure too much. It still cut well...saw has amazing power. But we both knew it right away when we started playing with 7pin RS. It pulled nice. It pulled consistently. Wasn't affected by hand pressure like 8pin. ...this setup just runs very very nice on this saw. We both agreed this was the best setup for the oil test to produce consistent running conditions and show any changes in power due to changing oil and or ratios.

So that’s the final final for the oil test - 36” tsumura with 104dl 7pin 404 RS.

I figure I'll need about 45 chains for the entire test. :yikes:
---------------------------------------

oils and ratios to be tested...

Schaeffers 32:1 36:1

Mobil 1 32 36 40 44?

Belray si-7 – 32:1 36:1

HP2 32 36 40

Yamalube 32 40 – just to show it sucks

Super tech 32 36 40 44?

Dumonde 32 36 40

H1r 32? 36 40 44?

800 off rd 32 36 40 44?

Amsoil 32 40 44? - im thinking 32 will run coolest and 40 will run hotter then I won’t have to do 44

K2 – 32 36 40

R50 – 32 36 40

---------------------------

will take the winning or best ratio for each oil and put them up against each other.

winning = best times, and coolest temps. Plan to have at least 2 guys doing the test cuts maybe 3...and get multi opinions on how they run as well.

I remember you posting pics of 800 and R50 on AS and saying 800 lubed almost as good as R50 and burned cleaner. If I need more lube I'll just mix 24:1 or tune richer. Mike, if you have any 800 you don't want I'll take it. My saws love it.

I'll send what I have. It burns when milling but not bucking firewood. Its probably making less power than an oil that burns.

I wish it was easily available. It seems to burn in a saw easily. Tuning was forgiving and no oil running in the muffler.

I tried it in a saw with a clean top end I was porting. Nice easy to tune and left a nice wash pattern after about 20 cuts.
