I ran stihl ultra for a while and no matter how I tuned it on any of my saws it would leave goo at the exhaust. The bigger saws where not as bad as smaller saws and my weedeater would just oooozzz down the muffler and even down the side of the case.
Kinda looks like dark roast finely ground run through a mess screen without a filter??!!! :D

Just for chits and giggles I have a bg50 that had a shot piston so I put a 2 ring bg55 piston in it. I'm only running super techniplate in it to see what it does. I have it tuned a little on the lean side.

Lord I dont have a clue. My experience with it was a stuck ring in 3 tanks of fuel on a new 550xp with alota blowby also. Id be very interested to see in that 50/55 setup

In that bg50 it's 100% super. Since it's always under load I want to see if it's enough to burn it. At $2.50 a pint I had to try it in something. It's also running no base gasket, timing bump and a muffler mod. Lol. It picked up 300 rpm

Crimping the end of the output tube will make her pick up alota rpm!!!:D. I like the oval output for velocity but the round output seems to have better volume

@Moparmyway think you were the one asking last year what the tops looked like 32/1 kl200. Was a new afm 066 piston.

Well I just pulled the cylinder on my wild thing to help a guy out with his 2083.

Muffler dry, piston coated. Cant ask for anything else from the oil IMO.

Stihl didn't have an Ultra when I left the company in 2005 , all there was at that time was the regular oil made to our specs by Castrol and it was a clean burning oil .
Why Stihl would use a lesser oil in the Ultra does not make sense at all . All I can think of is they were trying to produce a cleaner burning oil for the 4 mix engines that were having a lot of issues from carbon but by the sound of it ultra isn't even near improving that and it's been on the market for several years so I'm sure they must be aware it's not working well and I'm sure they have had lots of complaints .
Strange for a company such as Stihl to let something like that slide and not improve it . o_O

ultra was developed for the the 4 mix engines just like when shindaiwa had red armor developed for their 2/4 hybrid engines.
