Carbon is a byproduct of combustion? No carbon tells me the oil isnt combusting completely or the oil is full of additives??
You can tell oil isn't combusting by oily residue in the muffler.
Carbon on the piston too is more an indicator of mixture. No carbon is very rich and carbon on 100 % of the crown is lean.

IMO Redbull if it has wash marks its rich, wont combust, or little runtime. I still like to see the different oils compared without much runtime as I feel u can get an idea how the oil will combust or not
It takes alot more time than you guys are willing to put in to really see what an oil will do deposit and wear wise long term.

I've got super and R50 to burn when milling. Even 800 will burn then. Super if you tune on the edge will burn fine and keep it safe.
I have my bike burning supertechniplate as clean as possible. Muffler and exhaust are bone dry. But it's jetted very sharp, and the load has been high. It's nearly impossible to tune a saw to burn some of these high end oils completely short of milling.

I've run the same bad oil for 15+ years and find it to be excellent oil and pretty clean burning.

Maybe the ones that tried it in a saw didn't run it long enough or the wrong way.

I switched to 32:1 a month ago and still have a dry muffler. I've tried most every klotz and stuck with what I use because for me it worked the best. Everything else slobbered up the muffler.

661 dont like original from what I see of RB pics. M-tronic dont like. Thanks for your time testing stuff.

But from what I just saw in a PP365 I rebuilt with new piston in it. Guessing 3-4gal through it now on KL-200 only.
I run it rich 4 stroking clear up in cut and 32:1. Muffler is dry inside and piston oily residue. Top clean as a whistle no carbon build up. Which is what I expect running rich 32:1 on the safe side.
No pics as I just looked through holes on cylinder and have 3 saws on the bench at same time tearing down and switching tanks etc and rebuilding one.

Pic I took while switch big carb, intake and tank over to it yesterday.

I have been running 36:1 klotz original techniplate since day 1 on my new 661 arctic. I have 7 tanks on it so far. The saw has the old style boot and it's been bogging. So I decided to change the boot....which pretty much requires pulling the jug. It's a total pain to drop the tank with all the wiring on the arctic.

seems to burn pretty clean inside the muffler can. Big mark on the piston. Oil fault? Klotz does say 13k limit for orig. techniplate. But I would only go over that piss reving so? Or maybe Hd2 let something get through? This is my 11th or 12th 661 and this is the first time I've seen this and it's the first time I've used original techniplate. coincidence?

see video for top of piston - it's wet and black. No transfer wash showing. Video is posted after pictures.

inside the jug. Not exactly clean, like I've seen with the likes of mobil 1, honda hp2, and schaeffers.

vid - shows much more than the pics.

Maybe it would run cleaner at 40:1?
Stock ports have sharp slivers, I posted mine, they dug into the piston too

Thats a brand new Meteor 288 piston in a brand new NOS cylinder after 6 tanks of Lucas 25:1 on Cam 2 110 low lead.

That's aluminum dust that I wiped off the piston as it sat in the exhaust port. I squirt mix into it so the bone dry assembly wouldn't gall as I turned it over by hand

Where the piston sat open to the exhaust port, it corroded in 4 weeks

Yup, me too
Want some, I've got a couple of gallons of the crap
I've still got a gallon from when it was the next best thing. I'm gonna be running citgo for awhile, unless it turns out to be like your Lucas.

At 25:1 there should be oil all over:facepalm:. At least it burns clean lol

Any chance that's lead from your gas?

I ran a fresh rebuilt and ported saw about half of a tank with lucas at 32:1 and didn't really like how it ran so I yanked it apart to raise the exhaust and the top of the new piston was completely black.

I gave the rest of the quart away.
Never seen anything like that
